The Sarah A Mooney Museum is located in Hanford, California. The museum is dedicated to Sarah A. Mooney's life and work as an artist and educator. Sarah was born on October 29th, 1887 in Hanford, CA to parents Thomas Jefferson Mooney and Sarah Elizabeth Fellows-Mooney. She attended the University of California at Berkeley from 1908 until 1910 where she received her bachelor's degree with honors in art education. In 1911 Sarah married Egbert Linnell who died just two years later on March 10th, 1913 while working for Union Oil Company in Bakersfield, CA where he contracted pneumonia and pleurisy which led to his death.
